House of Wild Water

House of Wild Water

Hello and welcome to the house of Wild Water! It’s a constant work in progress, and you’ll probably find that it changes often and suddenly – other times, I’m not here at all for months!

I was inspired to create this site by my own metaphysical ponderings around the internet.

What is the internet even? How does it work, and how has it changed over time? What are web crawlers, fractal dimensions and electromagnetic interference? What ethical challenges are we facing with the rise of AI?

As a 90s kid, I first saw the computer as a portal to a new dimension, a world to be explored, wilderness – over time it warped into the mundane, the corporate, the algorithmic hazard we know and hate today.

However - Like the splendid nature and strange forests in the physical world, the wilderness is not yet extinct. It exists, but it is threatened.

On this site I am trying to find the answer to a question, although I do not know what that question is yet. I know that the answer is 3-dimensional at least, and that it therefore has no one-perspective answer.

This house is my home on the World Wide Web, and here I collect little clues to what the answer might be. The clues come on form of artworks - my own and others - writings, images, videos - I put them here, in the hope that I might find wisdom, for I am confused and overwhelmed by the nature of reality.

This site is best viewed of a computer, but I try to keep it responsive. Explore the house – click on doors, shelves and items – as I add them over time. Help yourself to some code snippets if you see an effect you like. I've handwritten a lot of the code but a lot is of course copy pasted from here and there. Draw on the walls of my bathroom or read an essay in the library. The pictures on the walls are of my own work. Feel free to add them to your own house, but please link to me if you do.

All the best
